"사람들이 나보고 맘충이래."
한국 사회에서 여자로 살라가는 일
그 공포, 피로, 당황, 놀란, 혼란, 좌절의
연속에 대한 인생 현장 보고서
For people who like kpop or people who like to read books are certainly familiar with one of these books, right? Because not a long time ago the movie version of this book has out and this is quite controversial. Definitely, some of you will wonder why? But for some people who really know how Korean Society is, they will understand it. Before I make a short review of this book I want to tell you a brief story about Korean Society.
So, last week I've got to write an essay about the difference between women and men base on Korean Societies' sight. And for that assignment, I search an article or journal or book that relate to this. Fortunately, I got this book for reference. Then while I read this book, I read some articles about the difference between women and men, and you know? In fact, Korean culture does not difference with Indonesia, for example, a woman should be married after their school and being a good wife + good mother to their own family. Mostly Asians always like this, but nowadays some girls voicing their rights to be equal to men, you can say it feminism. And even if Koreans say that they support the feminism movement, actually they didn't. They just follow the trend, I mean the people here don't like to be different, and if there are different people they will look at that person weird. Okay enough. Maybe in the next post, I'll write about the feminism movement in my perception.
Let's talk about the book. So in general, this book is talking about feminism. For more detail is talked about a woman who struggles with her life because of society. It's like you have a big dream about your future dream but you end being a housewife. And although I'm not the main character in that book I can feel how society restricts a woman to do something they like, discriminating, and even worse is getting sexual harassment. Therefore this book is recommended to everyone who supports the feminist movement, especially for a woman. Truly, I want to talk a lot about this book, like a plot or the climax and blablabla but I can't because I can't describe it to a word. I mean what I feel when I read it I can't describe it. So better for y'all to read it by yourself to know what I feel. Oh, I'll put the synopsis in the bellow. And also don't forget to watch the movie!!
