Because I promised to post about study abroad, so this time I'll start with how to make a visa in Indonesia.
TMI: Now I studied in Korea. So I just explain to Indonesian who want to study in Korea.
OKAY, directly I just explain the important things. If you want to study in Korea make sure that you know there are 2 types of student visas in Korea. Firstly, the trainee visa (D4) and second is the student visa (D2). The difference between those 2 types is how long will you stay in Korea. For example, if you just want to take the Korean Language Course you must make a trainee visa (D4) but if you want to get into university you must make a student visa (D2).
The next is the required document :
- Fotocopy document 1 (the last certificate, passport, KK, birth certificate)
- Passport
- Photo 1 (45mm x 35mm)
- Parents permit letter (in English of course)
- Certificate of Health - For this one, I recommended to go to Medistra Hospital (location: next to building Kedubes Korea). The service is good and faster than I think. Just only takes 2 hours. And for the cost is IDR 400K.
- Finance document - This document takes the form of a parent's account print out and also a statement from the bank. And you can add yearly SPT to make the staff surer. In this case, there is a difference between trainee and student visas. For the trainee, the last balance of the bank is US$ 10,000. And for the student US$ 20,000.
Next, for the submission, you can go to Lotte Shopping Avenue 5th floor in Kuningan Jakarta. In there you'll guide by the staff to fill the submission form. So don't worry, if you wrong when filling the form in there provided reserve form. After that, you must take a queue number and wait until your number be called. Later when you in the counter you'll be asked by the staff some general question like why do you want to go to Korea? or etc. And after the document be checked by the staff you'll get a small paper for the payment. Fyi the payment is cash only so prepare before you go there. If I'm not wrong the total payment is IDR 1.060.000. But I don't know if the rules change. So I'm sorry if I'm wrong.
The last is you can check your visa is acceptable or not in Korea Visa Portal. You must fill the form like this to get the result (last name, first name). Fyi the result comes out after 4-5 days since the day you apply.
I think if you really want to have an ease in studying in the country be it through a student visa or study exchange visa it's important to learn the language first. If you are knowledgeable with the language then you'll have a better communication with the people which is for me is very important.
